Postdoctoral Research Associate in Synthetic Inorganic/Main Group Chemistry

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Synthetic Inorganic/Main Group Chemistry.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a talented scientist to work in the exciting field of Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry within the Dr Cowley Research Group. A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available starting from October 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for 12 months, with the option to extend up to 42 months.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• Have a PhD in synthetic inorganic or organometallic chemistry (or have submitted a PhD thesis prior to taking up the appointment).
• Have expertise in air- and moisture-sensitive synthetic main-group and/or organometallic chemistry.
• Have experience as of using analytical instrumentation, in particular multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and/or single-crystal X-Ray crystallography. Knowledge of mass spectrometry would be beneficial.
• Have a demonstrable record of success in previous research, evidenced, for example, by publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals or the generation of results suitable for such publication. Evidence and the ability to demonstrate your independent intellectual and practical contributions to previous work is essential.
• Have a deep understanding of research fields in which they have previously worked.
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a self-motivated and enthusiastic manner, whilst taking every opportunity to share project-related progress and challenges within the research group.
