Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics to support the research and training activities of the Advanced Proteomics Facility (APF) at South Parks Road, Oxford. This role will provide expertise and advanced technology in mass spectrometry-based proteomics for the analysis of biological samples.

Applicants should hold a PhD/DPhil, or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil in Biochemistry, Chemistry or other relevant subject, and should have experience in mass spectrometry and proteomics analysis of biological samples.  You will be highly organised with methodical working practices and recording data, reporting results in agreed formats. Experience of the daily operation and maintenance of Thermofischer LC systems and mass spectrometers is essential.  You will also have good written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills to work in a team and efficiently with several research groups.  Experience in programming (R, Python) would be advantageous but is not essential.

This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the Department for up to 3 years in the first instance and is based at the Department of Biochemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.

This position is graded on the University’s grade 7, for which the salary range is £34,308 - £42,155 per annum. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
