Postdoctoral Research Associate in Climate Sensitive Diseases

The position is associated with the CLIMate SEnsitive DISease Forecasting Tool (CLIMSEDIS) project, awarded by the Wellcome Trust. CLIMSEDIS will develop and build capacity in the use of an innovative user-friendly disease forecasting tool. It will use extended weather forecast model systems to capture key climate combinations and provide an alert for multiple climate sensitive diseases ¿ with a focus on Anthrax, Chikungunya, Cholera, Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever, Dengue, Malaria, Rift Valley Fever, Yellow Fever. This will allow end-user stakeholders to utilise forecasts and delineate sub-national risk to inform timely, and targeted intervention strategies in the Horn of Africa.

You will have a PhD in relevant discipline.

This post is available from 1 June 2024 until 31 December 2025.

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.  Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
