Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in organic/physical chemistry. The associate will join a multi-disciplinary research team, funded by an EPSRC Prosperity Partnership grant entitled "ANTENNA - Advanced tools for predictive cleaning in a world of resource scarcity."

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out research into the development and applications of methods for the understanding of the composition of complex soils and their interactions with cleaning formulations, with a view to developing analytical methods that can be used to inform developments in formulations and evaluate their efficacy. Studies will focus on the synthesis of molecular probes, and the study of interactions of surface contaminants with underlying substrates and cleaning actives through a range of spectroscopic techniques, improving understanding of the factors that contribute to persistent contamination of fabrics and hard surfaces.

This post is fixed term for 29 months because the EPSRC funding is available for this fixed period only.
