We are seeking a researcher wishing to contribute to an exciting mixed-methods evidence synthesis project with clinical application, funded by NIHR Health and Social Care Delivery Research. This post will be based in the Department of Primary Care and Mental Health within the VISION Research Group, alongside Professor Fiona Rowe and Dr Lauren Hepworth. The project provides an excellent opportunity to undertake high quality research within a stimulating multi-disciplinary context working directly with a team from four universities, as well as healthcare and local government organisations. The group is multi-disciplinary and includes considerable experience in eye care service delivery, evidence synthesis, organisational theory, health economics and stakeholder engagement.

The project comprises two mixed-method, comprehensive service delivery evidence syntheses. The evidence synthesise will focus on two areas, adults and children with visual impairment due to acquired brain injury and children with cerebral visual impairment, that address how patients are best informed, assessed and offered person-centred, effective care through the eye care and wider integrated care pathways. This is a research associate position, you should have experience of conducting systematic reviews and techniques of both qualitative and quantitative evidence synthesis. The post is available for 21 months, working (1.0 fte, with flexibility down to 0.8 fte).

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30.  Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award
