Harper Adams University is looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work within the Earth Rover Program.

The Earth Rover Program is a not-for-profit company that was co-founded by Dr Simon Jeffery (Harper Adams University), Prof Tarje Nissen-Meyer (Exeter University), George Monbiot, and Katie Bradford. This appointment represents an exciting opportunity to join the team and engage with the Harper Adams University elements of the Earth Rover Program. The program aims to develop high frequency seismology for soil characterisation and belowground monitoring.

The main duties of the role include:

•    Contributing to the successful execution and completion of a research project using seismology for soil analysis.

•    Assisting in the running of seismology field experiments.

•    Analysis of soil samples to produce data that can be used for the seismic modelling.

•    Development of digital soil mapping or GIS components that build on the seismic modelling work.

•    Contributing to the delivery of tangible academic outputs in the form of peer-reviewed journal and conference papers

•    Attending conferences and meetings and delivering presentations to stakeholders, outside organisations and conferences

•    Contributing to the broader academic life of the University

•    All other duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be requested by the postholder’s line manager and/or the Head of Agriculture and Environment Department, commensurate with the post and the salary range of the grade.
