Background
The Department of Sociology and Criminology has established an international reputation as a centre of excellence in the research and education. The Department has been ranked 5th nationally and 1st in London in the 2021 REF. It offers an exceptional and varied programme of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and runs a well-established PhD programme. The Department is home to high-profile research centres including: the Centre for City Criminology; the European Social Survey (ESS) centre, the Violence and Society Centre, and the new centre COSPI (Centre for Online Safety, Safeguarding, Privacy, and Identity) with the School of Science and Technology.
Responsibilities
The role supports the co-directors of COSPI, Professor Raj Rajarajan (SST) and Dr Carrie-Anne Myers (SPGA). The role will involve supporting the organisation of external and internal events, the collection of evidence of impact related to Online Harms in line with the Online Safety Bill, undertaking ad-hoc literature searchers in related areas of research and preparing policy briefs and publicity material.
Person Specification
The successful candidate should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, have the ability to work with research data, the ability to conduct literature reviews and relevant background research (to identify, summarise and code relevant studies for further analysis) and the ability to translate/write knowledge exchange/accessible documents to support the work of COSPI.

Subject to agreement, relevant Professional Services roles may be undertaken in a hybrid way. This involves a combination of working on campus and at home each week.
