Job description

This 3-year post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Professor Uwe Drescher is funded by the BBSRC. 

The Centre for Developmental Neurobiology and the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders are world-leading centres in the field of developmental neuroscience and brain disorders, situated in central London.

We are seeking a bright, talented and self-motivated post-doctoral researcher to join our team. Candidates should have a PhD in Biological Sciences, knowledge of brain development, a first authorship on a paper in the field of neuroscience, and experience in in-vivo techniques to analyse mouse cortex function. 

Key responsibilities

  • undertaking original biomedical research as an integral member of a group working on a deeper molecular understanding of autism spectrum disorders
  • here studying the role of autophagy and microglia in neural circuit formation
  • applying in vivo approaches to investigate the function of cortical neurons and microglia in mouse models for autism
  • performing cell-biological research using primary neuronal cultures
