We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the research project “Intimate Partner Violence and Children's Human Capital: The Development of Socio-Emotional and Cognitive Skills in Early Years”, funded by the ESRC. The project will use data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) to study the impact of children’s exposure to intimate partner violence on their socio-emotional and cognitive development. The key methodology of the project involves estimating dynamic human capital production functions in which exposure to IPV act as a negative input.

The successful candidate will work closely with the research team led by Prof. Dan Anderberg (RHUL) as Principal Investigator and Gloria Moroni (Erasmus University) as Co-Iand and will (i) engage as full member of the research team in developing the human capital accumulation modelling, coding and estimation, and (ii) provide with the development of the project’s output, including the preparing of outputs for journal submission.

The successful candidate will have a knowledge of Matlab, R and STATA, ability to keep accurate records, strong communication skills, experience with interacting with research users and with researchers from related disciplines, and ability to work independently under regular supervision as well as within a team setting.

In return we offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package including:

  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Training and Development opportunities
  • Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
  • Various schemes including Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans and help with the cost of Eyesight testing.
