The above full-time position is available on a fixed term basis from the 1st March 2024 to 31 March 2025 in the Engineering Department (Renewable Energy) in Penryn, Cornwall. Flexible working hybrid and job share arrangements can be considered.

The position will be based in the Renewable Energy group led by Prof Philipp Thies and will support the project team of the Green Skills, the Future is Green project team, comprising of project members from Engineering, the Business School and Exeter Innovation.

The role

We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated ‘Research and Impact Fellow’ to work across our portfolio of research and business support, in the areas of Floating Offshore Wind and Circular Economy, as part of the Green Skills project team in Penryn.

This full-time post is ideally suited to an individual who is keen to develop their impact and engagement skills The successful candidates will work to support staff in the department, as directed by the respective projects’ Principal Investigators.

About you

For a Postdoctoral Research & Impact Fellow you will:

  • Possess an in-depth understanding: Floating Offshore Wind, and/or Circular Economy circular economy, environment, Net-Zero or sustainability to enable the development of new knowledge and to create unique business support and research opportunities within the field.
  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge in Floating Offshore Wind, and/or Circular Economy demonstrated by a relevant PhD or equivalent in order to conduct industrially relevant research and support learning and knowledge exchange;
  • Evidence of excellent teaching and training delivery, including the preparation, dissemination and revision of (online) training material for in-person and hybrid delivery
  • Ability to use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage learners;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to build professional networks or deliver outreach work, or build relationships for future activities;
