The Medical Faculty of Masaryk University, Department of Biology, Brno, the Czech Republic, invites excellent scientists to apply for Postdoctoral position in Molecular and Cellular Biology focused on Cancer signaling networks

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic postdoc to decipher the molecular mechanisms controlling the optimal intensity of oncogenic RAS/RAF/MEK/ERK signaling in malignant melanoma, particularly the crosstalk between the AMPK and ERK signaling pathways. The ambitious project builds partly on our previously published findings (Verlande et al. EMBO Rep. 2018 Feb;19(2):320-336) and more recent unpublished discoveries. The successful applicant will use various molecular and cell biology techniques – e.g., confocal microscopy, molecular cloning, flow cytometry, site-directed mutagenesis, expression profiling, proteomics, and immunoprecipitations.

Our successful candidate should:

  • Hold a Ph.D. degree in Molecular biology, biochemistry, or a similar field, awarded in the last eight years;
  • Have hands-on experience with a wide range of biochemical and molecular biology techniques;
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to work in a team;
  • Be independent and enthusiastic;
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English (at level C1 or higher);

Job contract: temporary for 2 years
Workload: 40 hours per week
Monthly salary: Fixed, 50,000 CZK (gross, tax 15%)
