Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant with expertise in the area of perovskite device engineering and physics and perovskite-on-silicon tandem cell fabrication.
The position is available for a fixed term of 30 months from time of appointment.
This project is associated with an exciting new EPSRC/UKRI-funded project, Interface Engineering for Terawatt Scale Deployment of Perovskite-on-Silicon Tandem Solar Cells. This is a collaborative project between Oxford Materials and Oxford Physics. The goal of the project is to deliver a novel tandem technology with the potential to scale up to TW levels, due to moving away from the use of rare materials, and employing fully-scalable manufacturing methodologies, for both the silicon and perovskite cells.
This role will focus on developing perovskite top cells and fabrication optimisation and characterisation of perovskite-on-silicon tandem cells.
Applicants should possess or be close to obtaining a PhD in physics, materials science, chemistry or engineering. They should be highly experienced in perovskite solar cell fabrication and optimisation, in atomic layer deposition, sputter coating and thermal evaporation, in fabricating and characterising perovskite-on-silicon tandem cells and have expertise in thin film characterisation methodologies such as SEM, AFM, XRD, TEM.
Applicants should be highly motivated and have excellent skills in working collaboratively, as part of a team. A good track record of high quality publications is essential. Having the ability to direct your own research and interpret your results independently is a must.
The University of Oxford and the Department of Physics offer an inclusive and diverse environment and workplace. We strongly encourage applications from all backgrounds and genders to apply.
The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach.

Only applications received before midday 21 March 2024 can be considered. You will be required to upload a brief statement of research interests (no more than 300 words), CV and details of two referees as part of your online application.
