Job Type: PartTime
Deadline: 09 Jul 2024

Please note this is for current Oxford Brookes staff only. External applications will not be considered.

We are looking for a Post-doctoral research assistant in Psychology for an exciting opportunity to be involved in a project funded by the Medical Research Council. The post is funded at three days a week for 15 months from 1.10.24

Alcohol consumption among mid-life women aged 40-65 is a growing concern in the UK, with one in five now drinking at levels that increase health harms. There is an urgent need to address alcohol-related harms in this demographic. This project will extend our previous work on the topic and work towards further development of design of a new intervention to support mid-life women who would like to reduce their alcohol consumption. The project uses the Behaviour Change Wheel and COM-B (capability, opportunity and motivation) model and so experience of these frameworks would be highly desirable.

The candidate will be responsible for day to day running of the project, for example by liaising with a public advisory group with lived experience and recruiting into and conducting three research studies.

The successful candidate must have a good undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in psychology or related discipline, and have a post-graduate qualification (or be nearing completion). Substantial experience of undertaking independent research using qualitative research and co-production methods is required.
