Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Social Work & Social Administration within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 524284), to commence as soon as possible for one to two years subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, preferably with multi-disciplinary education background, for example in social sciences, health science, computer science, management or other related discipline. Those with research experience in gerontechenology and/or applying technology solutions to studies are preferred. They should demonstrate strong competency in experimental design, data analysis and/or IT and/or application, have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

The Principal Investigator is leading a research focus on developing technology in support older adults. The appointee will contribute to strengthen the University’s strategically oriented research themes on Health Tech, Intelligence, and Sustainable Society and the Faculty’s focus on Cities 2050 and Wellness. In particular, the appointee is expected to contribute to innovative scholarship in gerontechnology such as user-centric approach, technology-enabled health assessment and prevention, etc. in multi-disciplinary research projects. The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in publication, managing and monitoring the project implementation; overseeing data collection and data analysis; preparing presentations and reports; and supervising other research-support staff. He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with scholars with multi-disciplinary background, service professionals and domain experts.
