Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Photonics in the Department of Physics (Ref.: 508956) to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics or a related subject, and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in experimental research in optics. Strong technical experience in working with fiber optics components is a must. Previous research experience in experimental quantum key distribution (QKD) will be a plus. Applicants should be highly self-motivated and have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.  The appointee will work on experimental quantum communication, particularly quantum key distribution, under the supervision of Professor Hoi-Kwong Lo.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
