Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Migration and Family Studies (1 post) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at the University of Hong Kong (Ref: 519858), to commence as soon as possible for one to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Principal Investigator and research team are conducting local and international studies on improving migration outcomes across the family life course in collaboration with interdisciplinary, international academics and local/international NGO partners in Hong Kong and across Southeast Asia.  

We are seeking a PDF with the following skills: survey design, field implementation and advanced statistical methods. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in quantitative Social Sciences, including disciplinary training in, for example, Social Policy, Sociology, Economics, Geography, or a related discipline. Experience with complex panel data analysis is preferred. They should possess fluency in spoken and written English.  Additional fluency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), Indonesian Bahasa, and/or Tagalog is an advantage.  They should be available to travel for field oversight within Southeast Asia. The appointee should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The appointee will have ample opportunity to work with research professionals and a well-established international, interdisciplinary research team. He/she will also gain valuable postdoctoral training in implementing large multi-country, multi-stakeholder project.
