Applications are invited for appointment as postdoc in Ecology in the School of Biological Sciences, to commence in January 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, for a two-year contract. We will investigate differences in climatic resilience of rice herbivore pests and their natural enemies and how pesticide use is altering species thermotolerances. Focusing on the major rice growing region of Thailandwe will sample insects exposed to common pesticide levels and reduced pesticides quantifying thermal tolerances of herbivores and predators. We will use these data to predict how these groups will respond to further climate warming, and how rice ecosystems could be affected by a loss of insect predator ecosystem services.
