Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department ofChemistry (Ref.: 511378), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry with a strong research background and experience in photochemistry, time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy, small molecule synthesis, and nanoparticle preparation.  Knowledge of Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), Polarization Modulation-Infrared Reflection-Adsorption Spectroscopy (PM-IRRAS), Attenuated Total Reflection Fourier Transform IR (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, and microfabrication is a plus.  Applicants should have proficiency in written and spoken English, a strong sense of responsibility, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.  The appointee will work on a research project which aims at increasing the energy conversion efficiency and quantum yield of photo-electro-chemical devices.  He/She is expected to gain new insights into how small molecules and nanoparticles behave at complex boundaries through the use of photophysical and photochemical means.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
