This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to contribute to the development of a new interdisciplinary research network. Based in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Oxford Brookes University, the Research Fellow will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of the University `Children & Young People' Research Network, led by Professor Anna Barnett and Professor Jane Appleton. The post is to be appointed as soon as possible, for a duration of 24 months.

The `Children & Young People' Research Network is an exciting new initiative supported by the University bringing together researchers across all four Faculties to undertake interdisciplinary work which will impact on the wellbeing of Children and Young people Nationally and Globally. It includes researchers in Psychology, Health, Education, Business and Technology.
As Research Fellow in the Network, you will undertake independent research in an area appropriate for the Network and will also undertake activities (equivalent to 1 day per week) to foster the development of the network including the development of collaborative research.

Applications are encouraged from Researchers with a strong track record of relevant research and its implementation. Applicants with an interest in one of the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply (please contact the named person for further information on these topics) :

Applicants with interests in other areas relevant to the theme will also be considered on merit.

As Research Fellow in the Children and Young People's Network you should have:

  • A good first degree in a field relevant to the study of Children & Young People
  • PhD in an area relevant to the study of Children & Young People
  • Experience as an independent researcher and/or at least three years postdoctoral or equivalent experience
  • Significant international publications in a relevant area
  • Experience of translating your research into practice in a relevant area.
