Policy Advisor (Singapore Hub)

Our Group Policy Unit focuses on supporting the long-term Group strategy of influencing and informing relevant politicians, policy makers and enabling organisations of the strengths of the University Group.

The Policy Officer (Singapore Hub) will take the lead on co-ordinating the Group’s access to intelligence about education, research and innovation policy in the geography covered by the Singapore Hub (with an initial focus on a limited number of priority countries). The post holder will also support the administration of effective relationships with government officials and will work to build relevant links internally within the University Group.

What will you bring to the team?

Experience and/or knowledge of the regional political or policy environment is a key requirement for the role to enable you to support key internal senior stakeholders in their engagement with politicians, policy makers and relevant national and international organisations in the region. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and organisations at all levels together with relevant experience of building effective external relationships with significant partner organisations are essential requirements for this role.

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and desk research skills together with relevant experience in writing formal documents for external submission and for internal use at the most senior levels.

To be successful in the role you will enjoy working flexibly within a small team with the ability to prioritise workload and work to your own initiative (a full list of the person specification can be found in the attached job description).

Spoken and written fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of second local language is desirable.
