The University of Helsinki supports research, teaching and studying through its University Services, which consists of the following sectors: HR Services, Teaching and Learning Services, Financial Services, Research Services, Communications and Community Relations, and Administrative Services. University Services employs a total of approximately 1,000 professionals in campus-based on-site services and University-level services assisting the on-site services.

The Research Services sector offers services at both the University level and on the campuses. The Research Services sector promotes the University’s preconditions for research, manages the University’s own research funding and provides specialist services for research.

We are now looking for a PLANNING OFFICER FOR DOCTORAL EDUCATION to be appointed on a permanent basis. The position supports the leadership of the University’s doctoral programmes.

About the position

As planning officer for doctoral education, your duties will include supporting and developing doctoral education. You will prepare the curricula and teaching programmes of doctoral programmes and will coordinate their activities. Your duties will also include organising various events and supporting and advising doctoral researchers and thesis supervisors.

Who you are

You are a qualified professional with a positive service attitude and a can-do approach. You have already gained some knowledge about doctoral education and the administration of research and higher education. You show initiative, demonstrate a can-do attitude and remain calm in any situation when interacting with customers. You have strong organisational and project management skills, and are able to express yourself fluently both in Finnish and English. A postgraduate research degree or an advanced stage of your doctoral studies would be strong assets.
