Placements Administrator

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our busy team within the Faculty Placements Office, supporting students from subjects including Health, Education, and Languages.


About the role:

You will play a vital role in providing support to the Placements team, ensuring that services are efficient, effective and adapt to changing circumstances. You will act as a point of contact for undergraduate students, staff and employers, dealing with enquiries and providing guidance. You'll communicate persuasively and tactfully with academic staff, placement providers and students, ensuring compliance with milestones throughout the placement. 

This role may cover administration of both undergraduate and postgraduate placements, as well as that required for study abroad programmes.

This position is offered on a full time, fixed term basis (to cover maternity) until January 2025 or the early return of the post-holder.

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop good working relationships with staff, students and members of the public
  • Ability to coordinate resources other than oneself (arrange events)   
  • A methodical and motivated approach to work    
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion    
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible and to learn new skills quickly      
  • Excellent IT skills

The ability to demonstrate a good use of initiative, to multi-task and prioritise a high workload will also be highly valued.
