The team

The Marketing Department is part of the wider Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions Directorate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate on the planning and delivery of our marketing activity with colleagues across the wider Marketing Team, Directorate and the University. We have a strong ethos of collaboration and open communication, and are proud of our supportive team culture.

The role

We are looking for a versatile, highly skilled Photographer to join our dynamic Marketing team. With a focus on student recruitment related content, the successful candidate will work on a wide variety of projects within this part time role. This can include everything from large scale events like our graduation ceremonies in York Minster, to staff profile shoots and field trips across the region. They will work closely with colleagues specialising in video production, graphic design, copy writing and social media management. Being part of the Marketing team will also mean contributing to wider discussion about the University’s brand, campaigns and marketing activity.

Required skills and experience

The successful candidate will have advanced skills in the planning, shooting and editing of high quality photography. They will also have excellent communication skills, able to work confidently with staff, students and other stakeholders in a variety of contexts, putting them at ease and working with them to get the best possible photography content. Time management and prioritisation is also essential to this role, as it will require handling multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
