This is an exciting opportunity to join the Smart Internet Lab as a Personal Assistant. The Smart Internet Lab is one of the UK’s most renowned Information and Communications Technology research centres delivering research on the future of internet technologies and telecommunications.
This role will provide high-quality executive support to the Director of the Smart Internet Lab, who is also Co-Director of the Bristol Digital Futures Institute (BDFI), in a fast-paced and exciting environment.
The role holder will be part of team of professional services staff supporting the Smart Internet Lab community of over 200 academics and researchers, enabling them to deliver world-leading research.
This role will provide personal assistant support to the Smart Internet Lab Director, who leads a thriving research facility delivering cutting-edge research and high-profile research projects. Our director engages with a range variety of high-profile stakeholders including research collaborators, funders, industry, and government representatives.
The role holder will work in a busy team and be responsible for tasks such as: managing the Director’s complex and busy diary, and communications with strategic stakeholders, organising internal and external meetings and events, arranging both local and international travel, supporting events and visits to the Lab, arranging and servicing meetings through drafting agendas, taking & circulating minutes, recording and following up on actions, reconciling the Director’s expenses using an online purchasing system. In your role you may be asked to provide occasional administrative support to the Smart Internet Lab team.
You will act as a primary contact for queries for the Director and be able to show initiative and deal proactively with these queries in a professional and helpful manner.
If you enjoy a busy and varied role in an exciting environment and thrive in delivering high-quality executive support, then this role should appeal.
You are comfortable with changing priorities and conflicting requests in a diverse, busy workload with flexibility and initiative.
You might already be working in a role providing personal assistant support to an Executive-level Director or have previous experience in this kind of role.
There will be opportunities to develop your skills and experience to make a very real contribution to the world-leading research that the Smart Internet Lab delivers.
For informal queries please contact Kayleigh Young ([email protected]).
