The Talent and Development unit is a central service within the People directorate at the University, focused on interventions to support employee journeys. The University of Dundee has been successful in securing a £1M Institutional Funding for Research Culture (IFRC) award from Wellcome. The IFRC will advance strategies to sustain positive research cultures by underpinning a portfolio of activities that will break barriers, support career transitions, and develop a caring inclusive interdisciplinary community of researchers. It will support the development of listening leaders and has core initiatives to flexibly support the careers of women, BAME, early career researchers and primary caregivers. We will engage 'Hidden' researchers from the many University roles who make key often unrecognised contributions.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to join us as a People Partner - Research Culture within our Talent and Development Unit to manage a key and new leadership development programme supported by this award. The post holder will have a dotted reporting line across to the newly established Research Culture and Environment unit and will work with colleagues involved in the delivery of other IFRC projects. This role will lead one of the three planned leadership transition programmes, undertaking further content consultation, intervention design and delivery, conducting psychometric feedback, and facilitating action learning. The role is specifically dedicated to this programme and is fixed-term for two years at 0.5 FTE supported by the IFRC award.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talent and development professional who has a passion for influencing positive leadership cultures to join a busy, successful organisation at an exciting time for our research, talent and leadership environments.

Your priorities will include:

  • Working directly with the Talent and Development Senior Partner - Development to build on the existing outline of the programme, consulting on content and approach.
  • Project managing the Leadership programme end-to-end - design, coordination, delivery, procuring external facilitation where necessary, and evaluation.
  • Coordinating and delivering EQi (Emotional Intelligence Quotient) self-perception and 360 report feedback to the cohorts, facilitating action learning groups and delivering classroom sessions for the cohorts.
  • Collaborating with the IFRC team at institutional level representing Talent and Development to a high degree of credibility.

Who we're looking for:

  • An EQi 2.0 and 360 qualified practitioner
  • Strong project or programme manager
  • Highly credible facilitator of leadership training within a Higher Education or research environment
  • Exceptional collaborator, able to deal effectively with a range of staff at all levels of an organisation
  • A dedicated and reliable individual with a strong professional background in talent and development
