The People & Organisational Development department is a newly established team who work to ensure staff are both committed to and equipped for achieving Goldsmiths’ strategic objectives. Playing a key role in supporting positive cultural change, our vision is to develop a contemporary, solutions focused HR service to support our staff and managers and to enhance the staff experience. We offer comprehensive support in HR Operations, HR Policies, HR Systems, Reward, Business Partnering, Learning & Development and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

About the role

We are looking for a People Systems & Data Manager to play a key role in overseeing and delivering a high quality, effective data and management information service to the college.

As the People Data & Reporting Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of our people data. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior leadership, to develop and implement data-driven strategies. You’ll also have a critical role in managing our Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) reporting obligations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Data Management: Oversee the collection, maintenance, and analysis of employee data, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Create insightful reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights to inform decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance data processes, streamline reporting, and drive efficiency.
  • Systems Administration: Manage HR systems, ensuring data accuracy and supporting end-users.

Working closely with the People Operations Manager, the broader People & Organisational Development Team, and colleagues in Finance/Payroll, the role holder will be expected to liaise with all staff across the college.

About you

We’re looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in HR data management, reporting, and analytics. The ideal candidate should be experienced and proficient in HRIS systems, Excel, and data visualization tools. Adept at interpreting complex data, you are able to identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. You know how to handle sensitive data with discretion and adhere to confidentiality and GDPR standards. You are someone that thrives in a team-oriented environment and enjoy working closely and collaboratively with colleagues across functions.

This business-critical role will draw upon your project management and communication skills, your experience of stakeholder engagement, team leadership and your ability to work confidently with, challenge and negotiate with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to understand the business needs and build key relationships.

Goldsmiths is currently operating on a hybrid-working model, and you will be expected to work on campus for two days a week.
