Hours

Part time up to 0.6FTE/21.5 hours per week. The University Payroll Team operates between 9-5:30, and observes core hours between 9:30-5 which the successful candidate will be expected to observe. We anticipate that the successful candidate will work 100% of their time from the University offices in Falmer.

Salary

Starting at £24,533 to £28,759 per annum, pro-rata if part-time. Please be aware that any role graded below 5.4 or £31,396 per annum will not be eligible sponsorship

An experienced Payroll Coordinator is required as soon as possible to join a busy team. They will undertake a range of duties relating to the running of two computerised payrolls including: payroll administration, data input, answering personal queries and liaising with government agencies.

Applicants should be able to operate effectively within a team, possess a good level of numeracy and literacy as well as being familiar with a computer based environment. The person appointed should be able to handle high volumes of work accurately, possess good communication skills, and be able to organise and prioritise work to meet strict deadlines. A knowledge of tax and NI requirements is essential and a knowledge of auto enrolment requirements is desirable.

To be successful, you will require a high level of accuracy and ability to understand and convey technical information to provide a clear explanation to others. An up to date knowledge and experience of working in a busy Payroll Team is essential. Experience of working with Pensions, Financial Reconciliations, and HR systems would be advantageous.
