Summary of the role

The role sits within the newly created ‘Partnerships and Global Employability’ team within the division of Student Employability and Academic Success (SEAS). The team has a specific brief for delivering employability programmes in collaboration with strategic and external global partners (HEIs, employers and alumni and suppliers). Internally to the University, the team work across and as an integrated part of SEAS but also with academics and other professional services across the institution.

The role is responsible for co-ordinating the design and delivery of a range of high quality collaborative employability and professional development programmes for taught students, enabling students to develop their skills and employability in preparation for the world of work.

Each Programme Co-ordinator will have lead responsibility for a particular programme or programmes of delivery including liaison with various strategic suppliers (internal and external) with a global perspective and engaging various overseas partners. The postholders will also be expected to work together to provide resilience where required.

Specifically, this postholder will be responsible for the coordination of the Future17 SDGs Challenge Programme . Future17 is an exciting new programme delivered in partnership with QS and a consortium of global partners including the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Stellenbosch and the University of Sao Paulo. The programme brings students together in multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, multi-cultural teams to tackle real-world challenge projects aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Some of the main aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • To act as the institution lead in the management and organisation of processes and quality of programme delivery for the Future17 programme.
  • To collaborate with colleagues (internal to the University and external partners) in presenting ideas and solutions and support the development of the programme in innovative ways, supported by appropriate technology. 
  • To develop and enhance administrative processes for programme delivery.
  • To lead on communications and marketing across the University and wider stakeholders regarding programmes.
  • To organise and service regular programme planning meetings or Steering Groups with relevant stakeholders.
  • To work collaboratively with immediate colleagues within the team to provide resilience for both your area of responsibility and reciprocate support for others.
