Oxford Brookes University is seeking a Partnerships Manager for a newly established research institute in AI. The appointment is initially for two years, starting March 2024, based in at the University’s main campus in Headington, Oxford.

Working in collaboration with Professor Fabio Cuzzolin, Director of the new Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis and Systems (AIDAS) the postholder will nurture, grow and coordinate the management of key partnerships with external companies, organisations and communities. The Partnership Manager will also act as Oxford Brookes Liaison Officer towards the newly established Turing University Network in AI and Data Science, and lead on the marketing and dissemination of the Institute’s activities.

Applicants should be educated to degree level in computing, a technical subject or the sciences.  They must also have strong administrative, relationship management and communication skills, ideally with a background in a research or Higher Education environment. They should have experience at working in a technical and/or scientific area that requires advanced understanding to develop business opportunities and connections across stakeholders, and highly developed interpersonal and networking skills. Experience in grant funding, marketing and/or business development is advantageous.

This is a varied and exciting role in a fast-evolving discipline working with academics and researchers in the UK, Europe and further afield as well as external stakeholders and the commercial sector.

The Partnerships Manager will:

  • Build knowledge of the existing partnerships and collaborations, and of the strengths of the research and knowledge exchange portfolio within the AIDAS Institute.
  • Engage, build and maintain relationships with prospective partners.
  • Facilitate the coordination of consortia working on large grant bids.
  • Develop processes and explore the use of a Customer Relationship Management to capture connections.
  • Prepare reports and informal communications on key stakeholder activity and trends.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with colleagues in the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) Directorate and with the AIDAN (Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis) RIKE Network.
  • Lead on the content creation of digital and marketing materials and events.
  • Act as administrative Liaison between Oxford Brookes University and the newly established Turing University Network in AI and Data Science.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility for this post.

Please note there may be the occasional requirement for evening or weekend working to support and run events. Oxford Brookes University has a hybrid approach to working, with an expectation of an average of two days a week in the office.
