Applications are invited for a Part-time Trial Coordinator (80% FTE) to work on the Relationships in Good Hands Trial (RIGHT). This is an NIHR randomised controlled trial examining the clinical and cost-effectiveness of an intervention for foster and adoptive parents. It will test Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy for abused and neglected young children with maltreatment-associated problems and will involve working across Social Care, Health and Third Sector organisations. The project is led from the University of Glasgow and the Oxford lead is Dr Mina Fazel. The post is at 80% FTE and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital with some travel within the UK.
The post is for a fixed-term (funded to 30 June 2024).
You will be responsible for ensuring that the study protocol and regulatory requirements are followed for each of the individual components of the research study, and for ensuring that the research undertaken safeguards the wellbeing of the study participants and is conducted within the conditions approved by relevant NHS Research Ethics and Management Committees. You will act as a key liaison with the project team at the University of Glasgow site. You will have some research time allocated to your post for the conducting of qualitative interviews and analysis and write up of data collected to support that being done by the other study researchers. This can also include gathering data, undertaking limited literature reviews and writing of publications of the research findings.
You will have a higher degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience, along with experience of working in clinical trial management. You will have been responsible for at least one study from setup to completion of recruitment. You will have some expertise in managing budgets, and will have up to date knowledge of the regulatory and governance requirements for UK clinical trials. Knowledge of the Health and Social Work systems for looked after and accommodated children with mental health problems would be desirable.
