The Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) is looking to appoint to a permanent, part-time role of HR Officer, 0.8FTE/30hpw. The role has recently been vacated and we are seeking an excellent candidate who is looking for an interesting and varied role in our small but busy school.
The role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the HR function in OSGA, reporting to the Head of Administration and Finance. You will be responsible for providing essential support, advice and guidance to the School on HR-related matters including: personnel, recruitment, work permits and visas. An Administration Apprentice provides support for HR equivalent to 1 day per week, and whilst the line-management responsibility for that role sits with our Finance Manager, the HR Officer will allocate, oversee and support the Apprentice with HR activities.
Qualified or working toward CIPD graduate level or with equivalent experience, you will have experience of working in an HR role and managing HR processes. You will have a sound knowledge and experience of UK employment law and UKVI regulations, and also have experience of using HR systems and producing reports, with the ability to deal accurately and confidently with numbers. Your communication skills will be excellent, with the ability to demonstrate experience of providing a high level of customer service and develop professional and effective working relationships with key stakeholders. HR experience within the University of Oxford or other higher education institutions is desirable.
The University of Oxford offers a range of excellent benefits including training and development opportunities, a generous pension scheme, a range of travel schemes and excellent social and sporting facilities. For more details on the benefits of living and working in Oxford please see www.admin.ox.ac.uk/personnel/staffinfo/benefits/

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 24 July 2019. Interviews are scheduled for week commencing 5 August 2019.
