This new full – time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.  

Summary of the role  

The University of Exeter is seeking an experienced Impact and Partnership Development manager in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences who will serve as the University’s expert professional for building collaborations with organisations across commercial corporations, public services, policy makers and education sectors across the cultural heritage sector.

The IPDM Cultural Heritage will have a clear focus on building collaborations on cultural heritage initiatives for the University, prioritising links with both national and international organisations.  The post holder will focus on cultural heritage projects based on people, landscapes, collections and the built environment.  A well-established network and understanding of government strategies, policies and research funding in culture and heritage is important. 

There will be extensive opportunities to work with world-leading research concepts including Digital Humanities, Archaeology, History and the Institute for Arab and Islamic Studies based in a UNESCO City of Literature.

The University of Exeter has specific strengths and opportunities in these areas with a significant range of academic, research and training offers and there will be extensive opportunities to work with world-leading research concepts and to network and collaborate.

The successful candidate will have experience of working successfully with partners from across academic, public and private sectors and will have extensive knowledge of public sector trends and research, education innovation opportunities and the knowledge exchange needs of the sector. They will be responsible for coordinating and driving existing activities in this area, identifying opportunities to deliver greater value to these sectors, working with researchers from across disciplines and colleges, and engaging with policy makers across the UK and globally.

Innovation, Impact and Business (IIB) is the professional team that supports and drives this critical work.  Its key aim is to secure significantly greater value and impact from relationships with partners drawing on the University’s education, research and physical assets. This includes research collaboration, commercial services, new venture development, skills, placements, and education partnerships.
