This is a really exciting time to be joining DMU. The People Services team has been through a period of change and we have several new roles available to support the advancement of our ambitious Empowering University strategy. Being part of a thriving and energetic team, you would join our new directorate and help us to deliver a key pillar of our university strategy, ‘Empowering People’. Our role is to enhance our employee offer in relation to leadership and management, reward and recognition, voice and experience, health and wellbeing, and to ensure our polices, processes and systems enable digital solutions, swift decision making, equal access and autonomy.
People Services has a rich portfolio including people partnering, policy and employee relations, wellbeing, international, pay and reward, operations and support hub, as well as talent, learning and organisational development. Our directorate’s ambition is to provide high quality professional people services, working together to enhance the lives of our current and future employees so that they can deliver an excellent student experience. Role
The OD Facilitator, reporting to the Learning and Organisational Development Manager, implements university-wide and local OD interventions at DMU. Applying principles aligned with the Empowering University Strategy, they use data-driven insights to inform decisions and support strategic initiatives. The role includes innovative facilitation of OD solutions, staff engagement activities, and data analysis to contribute to a positive employee experience.
Collaborating across DMU, the OD Facilitator builds relationships and ensures alignment with People Services' broader objectives. They integrate DMU values into key strategic areas and stay current with OD approaches to drive ongoing innovation. In a supportive role, the Facilitator coaches and mentors junior team members, contributing to overall team development and performing various duties as needed.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate holds a degree, a professional qualification in Organisational Development, Occupational Psychology, or equivalent experience. With an in-depth knowledge of OD concepts, methodologies, and a track record in delivering solutions in large, complex organisations, they bring valuable insights. Having been part of a Learning/Organisational Development/Talent service, they've provided crucial OD advice to stakeholders, influencing organisation-wide projects and programmes.
Demonstrating a nuanced understanding of the role of Organisational Development in complex change, the ideal candidate comprehends the synergies between OD, Learning and Development, and Talent Development. Their expertise extends to interpreting and analysing complex data and metrics, applying these insights effectively to advance Organisational Development initiatives. These qualifications position them as a valuable asset for steering OD strategies in alignment with organisational goals.
