Online Tutor: Post Digital Writing

About The Role
We are now looking to recruit a dynamic Online Tutor for our Post-Digital Writing Module as part of our innovative BA (Hons) Creative Writing (Online) team in the School of Communication. The course is taught asynchronously and online tutors work closely with module leaders to facilitate student engagement and support students to work week by week through the module that the module leader has designed in advanced. The online tutor will oversee students as they engage understanding post-digital, digital and multimodal writing practice.
The online tutor will support students learning to respond to creative brief, adapt to the collaborative rhythms of the creative industries and develop their own post-digital writing in a wide range of forms. The online tutor works closely with the module leader to support students to get comfortable with digital platforms, develop a multimodal approach and critical understanding of their creative writing and understand and confidently deploy content strategies in post-digital writing. Online tutors familiarise themselves with the module in advance, moderate discussion forums, chair weekly webinars and assess student work in collaboration with the module leader.
Online tutors are vital to the success and vibrancy of our online courses. Tutors are a constant presence in the module, the first point of contact for students’ academic enquiries and supporting their learning activities. The module is primarily asynchronous (not undertaken in real-time), online tutors log in and tend to the activities in the module at multiple points during the day and study week (including weekends).
This is a part-time position, 7 hours per week which is a flexible, home-working roles which start in January 2022 and will support a group of students for 16 weeks until May 2022.
About You
Educated to degree level, or having equivalent industry experience, the ideal candidate will have experience in working with groups of students from diverse backgrounds at HE level. Student focused, well organised, and digitally literate you will be running tutorials, webinars, online workshops and providing support for a group of students. You will have experience within the post-digital content (games writing, VR, digital content, podcasting, multimodal writing) subject area. Previous experience teaching online would also be an advantage. You will have excellent communication skills, and the commitment to deliver an excellent online learning experience for students.

Due to the online nature of this role, it can be worked remotely, however the successful candidate must be based within the UK.
The successful candidate will need to start on 17th January 2022.
