ODA Research Contracts Specialist

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Research Contracts Specialist to provide research contracts support to departments and faculties across the MPLS, Humanities, Social Sciences and GLAM Divisions in connection with cutting edge research funded by Official Development Aid (ODA), which seeks to address the global challenges faced by developing countries.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with researchers and their departmental administration teams to draft and negotiate bespoke research related agreements suitable for ODA-funded research activity, and will provide pragmatic advice and solutions in relation to contractual issues. They will need to develop good personal relationships both within the University and more widely with relevant stakeholders, including with funding bodies and research collaborators both within the UK and overseas.

The postholder will be educated to degree level, well-organised and able to work and communicate effectively under pressure in this challenging but rewarding role. Ideally, they will have administrative experience in higher education or a charity-based environment, and an interest in contractual and organisational matters.

Research Services is a rapidly growing area of the University and this position provides a good entry point for those seeking a career in University administration. There is ample opportunity for specialist and on-the-job training.
