Duration of Contract: 1 year Fixed - Term with possibility of extension

Salary: UH4 £24,248pa to £25,138pa with a potential to progress to £27,181pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane campus, Hatfield. However, may be required to visit other campuses.

The University of Hertfordshire is an exemplar within the sector and one of the region’s largest employers. We are looking for a motivated Occupational Health Administrator to support our friendly, professional and progressive Occupational Health (OH) department.

Main duties and responsibilities:

You will support the smooth running of the University’s OH Service by undertaking general administration and reception duties, including but not limited to receiving and greeting staff, students etc., resolution of non-clinical issues, appointment bookings, clinic preparation, processing of reports, facilitating meetings, record keeping and data management.

With a high standard of customer service, the role will involve engaging and liaising with internal and external stakeholders through various modes of contact, dealing with clinically confidential and/or sensitive material, and will be key to enabling the clinical team to effectively focus on clinical priorities.

Skill and experience required:

We require a methodical person with an understanding of good customer care and a can-do attitude to solving problems. You must be a team player, flexible and adaptable in approach, timely towards work priorities, and must be able to operate with tact and diplomacy in day-to-day duties. Crucially, you must be able to handle highly confidential, sensitive material, and be committed to issues of equality and diversity.

Practically, the role will require someone with previous administrative experience. You must be numerate with excellent written and oral communication skills, and you will be experienced in using Office applications (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as have wider experience using other modern IT systems and applications.  Administrative experience in large and/or complex organisation and/or in a clinical l environment would be beneficial but not mandatory.

Qualifications required:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs including grade C/4 in Maths and English (or equivalent level 2 qualification), or proven professional work experience
