The College

The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is the largest School in UWL and a major provider of pre-registration and post-qualifying nursing, midwifery, paramedic, ODP, public health and apprenticeship education in London and Berkshire (undergraduate to doctoral).

The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established continuing professional development team. The post holder will be responsible for the leadership, delivery, and contribute to the development of continuing professional development (CPD) education for nursing and allied healthcare professionals, offered by the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare.

The post holder will: 

  • Offer Course Leadership for our CPD focused MSC awards (MSc Clinical Practice and MSc Nursing (Top up)). This role would also contribute to the leading, delivery and development of our CPD portfolio of stand-alone modules. They would be specifically involved in modules relating to the adult that is acutely or critically ill, history taking and physical examination. 
  • Develop high quality of teaching and learning materials to support the delivery of the modules and courses
  • Deliver innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies that enhance the student learning experience. 
  • Working closely with the senior management and course teams, the post holder will provide support to students undertaking modules and courses within the College of Nursing Midwifery and Healthcare and to students/mentors in clinical environments.
  • As a member of the academic team, the post holder will assist in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of healthcare disciplines in CNMH.
  • Support engagement with partner Trusts and other stakeholders, in the support of students undertaking CPD, acute and critical care modules.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring one’s own academic and professional development within the field of nursing and health care is maintained

This post is available as a permanent post (full time/part time) or as a secondment opportunity (FT/PT). Application will be via the UWL jobs portal. The Person

The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience of teaching and assessing nursing and healthcare related subjects in Higher Education institutions. They will have a master’s degree in a related subject and hold a formal teaching qualification.

Candidates should demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, clinical practitioners, and with our support and technical staff. Candidates must hold current registration with the NMC or HCPC.
