Network Engineer

As part of the Network Services team, you will be supporting the telephone and data networking systems that are essential to the University core operations.

About the Role

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative and understand the value of delivering reliable and stable services with clear and concise documentation. You will be working as part of a team of highly motivated individuals who are committed to achieving deadlines and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

  • Be involved in organising and migrating the University’s workforce to MS Teams
  • Provide input into the ongoing development of telephony systems
  • Contribute to operational support and delivery of networking services
  • Receive training from peers, and build up knowledge and experience to pass onto 2nd line support teams, and provide mentoring for those colleagues.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience configuring and working with some of the following:
  • PBX products (including MS Teams)
  • Peripheral telephony systems, such as call reporting and contact centre products
  • Experience of automating/streamlining processes
  • LAN and WLAN management tools, such as Cisco Prime
  • IP address management, DNS administration
  • The ability to present your ideas in specialist areas to a wide and potentially non-technical audience.

The team are currently working remotely, with future remote working options.
