Location: Exeter, ENGLAND
Deadline: 09 Feb 2023

Innovation Impact and Business

This 2-DPW part-time post is available from 1st April 2023 on a fixed term basis until 3rd January 2025.

Summary of the role/position

This role will primarily focus on the effective support for an existing Network - EUniverCities. This is a European Network, launched in 2012, in which medium sized cities as well as universities work together in tandems to give knowledge cities more visibility within Europe. The Network aims to exchange and spread the knowledge, expertise and experience about city-university cooperation across urban Europe. Both Exeter City Council and University of Exeter are members.

Network members learn from each other how to shape co-operations in a fruitful way, apply the lessons, take next steps on the local level, and spread the lessons and ideas. The Network has been inspired by European Strategies on Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth and attributes great importance to knowledge, innovation and technology.

This new role will be to support this Network by ensuring:

  • Two planned events (physical and virtual) per year are professionally organised and coordinated. These take place in different partner cities and require considerable planning and organising. This includes Agenda and venue planning and speaker selection and overall event coordination.
  • Network administration and financing is carried out effectively and on time. Members pay a fee per year and this needs to be collected and evidenced.
  • Network newsletters (e-zines) and Network website are up-to-date and delivered on time.
  • Ongoing background social media campaign to promote the Network goes ahead with coordinated input from partners.
  • Targeted social media campaigns ahead of our two planned meetings per year go ahead to drive up external interest and highlight the conclusions.

You will also support, time permitting, the civic role of the University as it expands its partnerships locally.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
