Neonatal complications of COVID-19 study Data Manager

The ‘Neonatal Complications of COVID-19 Study’ was established rapidly at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic in the UK. The study is designed to undertake national surveillance of: (i) newborn babies who are infected with Coronavirus and require hospital care; and (ii) babies born to mothers infected by Coronavirus where the baby is admitted for neonatal care. The study is being carried out using the British Paediatric Surveillance Unit (BPSU) (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/work-we-do/bpsu). The study works in synergy with the UK Obstetric Surveillance System (UKOSS) study of coronavirus disease in pregnancy. 

As Data Manager you will run the on-going study working closely with the study chief investigators to ensure that: the on-going data collection continues; data are cross-checked with UKOSS; the data systems are maintained to the highest level of integrity at all times; liaise with data providers; and to assist in the continuous development of efficient administrative and data management systems to ensure prompt and accurate processing of the study data.

To be considered for the Data Manager role you will have knowledge of data management principles, ability to set up and maintain an effective study data management system and experience in using the Open Clinica data entry system. Additionally you will have experience of working on surveillance studies or other health care research, strong IT skills and experience with a good telephone manner.

This is a part-time position (60-80%FTE) and fixed term for 1 year.  The closing date for applications is noon on 20th August 2021.
