The London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS) at Hammersmith Hospital is a core-funded MRC research institute and enjoys close links with its partners at Imperial College and at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Research within the LMS focuses on strengthening the basic science underpinning our understanding of human diseases and the translation of such high-quality research into a clinical setting. Within the LMS, the Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility works closely with individual research groups to meet the requirements in the areas of metabolomics and proteomics analysis. The Facility currently houses seven mass spectrometry systems, and has plans to strengthen its technology base further.

We are seeking to recruit a metabolomics scientist to work within the LMS Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility in order to apply metabolomics analysis methods and workflows to support groups with the Institute.
Candidates are expected to have experience in implementing and developing LC-MS and GC-MS assays on low and high resolution mass spectrometry systems, as well as to be proficient in bioinformatics tools and approaches for the analysis of large and complex datasets.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop and advance innovative metabolomics techniques and work with leading LMS research groups in the fields of genes and metabolism, epigenetics and integrative biology. The successful candidate will join the LMS Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility to maintain metabolomics analysis as a state-of-the-art technology to address important biological and biomedical questions.
