Salary
£30942 to £40322 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1100 people and provide a wide range of services across our UK sites.

Working within the Estates office you will assist in the management and maintenance of key HVAC and associated mechanical building engineering assets and systems ensuring that they are maintained and available as required by all University staff and students. The role involves making decisions on the design, provision and maintenance of these services to ensure the University can meet its core function of teaching and research.

Applications are invited for an individual to join a busy and vibrant team of engineers, engaged in the provision and management of a wide range of Mechanical Building Engineering Services, planned and reactive maintenance and energy management.  

Applicants will have a proven track record and detailed experience in Building Engineering Services maintenance within a large organisation. You will hold an HND/C qualification in Building Engineering Services and ideally be a Chartered Engineer and a member of CIBSE or equivalent.  Ideally you also will have experience of water hygiene and the control of legionella bacteria in domestic water systems. Candidates will be self-motivated, computer literate, an excellent organiser and have proven leadership qualities combined with excellent communication skills. Due to the frequency with which candidates will be required to drive between university sites a full current driving licence is essential for this post unless disability precludes this.

This role is available on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week).Job share arrangements may be considered.
