This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced marketing professional to join Lancaster University’s central Marketing Team.
A new post has been created to support the development and implementation of student recruitment marketing strategy and plans for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and its nine departments. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University is a world top 100 Faculty (THE 2023).
Reporting to the Faculty Marketing Manager, you’ll work with colleagues across the Faculty as well as central marketing and recruitment teams.
The post is wholly faculty-facing, and it will be your responsibility to ensure that the Faculty’s marketing plans are delivered effectively, on schedule and within budget. This will include the launch of new programmes.
You will be responsible for co-ordinating and implementing a broad range of marketing activities. One of the key areas will be to deliver segmented subject-level advertising across a range of media channels, such as paid search, paid social media, and third-party platforms (e.g. The Student Room, Hot Courses IDP and UCAS). This will involve liaising with external agencies as well as setting up campaigns directly via Google, Meta etc. Experience of producing creative, compelling, targeted copy, content and collateral (e.g. web, targeted advertising, targeted emails, social media, etc) is essential.
You will line manage two Faculty Marketing Coordinators to ensure that the development of high quality course content, copy and messaging, social media and more are aligned to campaign plans and the University brand, and are delivered effectively and accurately.
You will be passionate about student recruitment marketing and will work across the Faculty’s large portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, seeking to attract both home and overseas students. You will be familiar with relevant legislation such as the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and committed to upholding these regulatory requirements.
The role will involve developing good working relationships with colleagues at all levels in departments. You will be open and adaptable. Someone who enjoys change and is able to work with others to establish, review and adapt processes. You will have excellent organisational and administration skills including the ability to multi-task, to self-motivate and to manage your own workload.
This is offered as a full-time indefinite role, although flexible arrangements will be considered. The role is hybrid with both on-campus and home working.
