The Marketing and Communications Officer is a key role to promote and disseminate the work of INSPIRE both internally, across the University, and externally with the aim of recruiting partners to engage in research and knowledge exchange partnerships.
The Institute for Sustainable Practice, Innovation, Research and Enterprise (INSPIRE)
delivers central support for innovation, research and enterprise to all academic and professional departments across UWTSD. INSPIRE staff provide intelligence to the University’s research and knowledge exchange teams on external funding calls and support the development of funding bids. INSPIRE provides support for staff, students and alumni looking to spin-out new enterprises and works with funding bodies such as HEFCW and the Welsh and UK Governments to monitor their progress. INSPIRE seeks to ensure all new developments address the University’s strategic commitments to the Wales’ Civic Mission Framework and Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. INSPIRE fosters a sustainable development approach to innovation, research and enterprise by supporting the global transition to a post-carbon economy and is committed to working in partnership to help achieve this objective.
The role will include the planning, organising and delivery of creative marketing campaigns that bring INSPIRE to the attention of enterprises and potential research partners across the UK. A key feature of the role will include working with At the INSPIRE team to write up case studies, blogs, press releases and reports. The project officer will also be responsible for maintaining INSPIRE’s social media platforms and creating content to update the website (with technical support from the UWTSD website team), as well as maintaining and presenting records of dissemination activity.
The role will include supporting the wider UWTSD marketing team as and when required, including attending and assisting at University events. The Marketing and Communications Officer may be required to present on behalf of INSPIRE at public events.
