We are looking for a Market Research Executive for our Leeds office to join ourbusy team of experienced market researchers and data analysts.

You will be working within busy team of experienced market researchers and data analysts, supporting more experienced team members to deliver higher education consultancy work to clients that include global prestigious universities, governments and corporate companies.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the delivery of complete or part projects.
  • To become the subject matter expert in all the secondary data sources for Higher Education market data (Including HESA, THE rankings, UCAS, bibliometric data etc.).
  • Understand the basics of primary market research techniques from sample design, questionnaire design, data analysis, qualitative research recruitment, writing discussion guides and analysing qualitative data.
  • Work on client facing teams attending presentations and initial project briefings and being part of the team that presents to new clients in new business pitches.
  • Produce well-written reports and impactful presentations.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent communications skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues in THE consultancy and wider THE internal stakeholders and external contacts, demonstrating good teamworking skills, strong work ethic and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Able to work effectively autonomously, being a dependable team player, with enquiring mind and confidence in taking the initiative and asking for support from colleagues, as appropriate.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm to work within the higher education market.
  • Keen to gain experience and confidence in working with large amounts of data and being able to clearly and accurately present in both verbal and written formats, with excellent attention to detail and data visualisation skills when creating presentation slides.
  • Willing to be flexible and respond to changing circumstances and alignment to our culture ‘professional but open’.

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree educated, 2:1 and above
  • Strong MS Office skills – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong numeric ability
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Interest in a career in Higher Education, Data Analysis and Market Research
  • GCSE English and Maths at least grade ‘C’ (or equivalent) or above

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Higher Education sector
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Evidence of commercial awareness
  • Relevant work experience
