Market Insight Researcher (LUM571/962)

Updated: 4 months ago
Location: Leeds, ENGLAND
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 17 Jan 2024

The Market Insight team works at the core of the marketing team, conducting research and analysis to support central marketing functions as well as delivering insight solutions to stakeholders throughout Luminate Education Group.

We conduct a huge range of activities, from large market research studies to support new courses and provisions, to analysing web and advertising activity to make sure we’re really connecting with our audiences. We pride ourselves on providing integrated insight, synthesising qualitative and quantitative information from a range of sources (be that government data sets, Google Analytics, or a focus group we conducted) that gets to the core of a problem and reveals opportunities that otherwise would have been missed.

We use a range of technology from Google Analytics and Business Intelligence software (such as Power BI) to more traditional market research techniques such as surveys and focus groups.

The ethos behind the team is driving improvement by ensuring decisions are insight led and opportunities are seized in the most effective way possible. We apply this ethos to ourselves and are always exploring new ways to learn more about our markets and audiences, whether that be investing in new products/methodologies or training the team on the latest technologies.

What You Will Do

You will be doing the work to pull out all those insights from research. That may be conducting and analysing split tests on Meta Ads to explore what kinds of advert best connects with an audience, or exploring admissions data to expose new opportunities to improve the customer journey.

Regardless of what project you’re working on you’ll receive regular training and support on digital and data analytics software, as well as market research techniques, which will prepare you to get stuck into a project.

You will work with stakeholders from across Luminate Education Group, from college principles and heads of departments to internal teams such as the digital marketing team or our creative team

Some typical work you might do is:

  • Analysing digital marketing and web data to understand the success of campaigns and find learnings for future campaigns, using tools such as Power BI, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Google Sheets, Google Big Query, etc.

  • Conduct focus groups and design surveys to understand how our many audiences think and how we can align with their needs

  • Analyse the admissions journey to find opportunities to improve conversion rates and make the customer experience as positive as possible, often using Tableau to conduct the analysis

  • …. and a whole lot more!

  • About You

You love to get to the heart of a problem, using lots of different techniques to get to a solution and not stopping until you’re satisfied with the result. Once you have that answer, you’ll help colleagues understand what it means and how to apply it for maximum impact across a range of contexts.

Able to approach a piece of work from many different angles, you’ll think strategically to find the best approach, taking into account the impact of the work and what the client’s true requirements are.

Most importantly, you will be a curious person who is as comfortable tackling a complex problem as you are planning a large project. Not put off by having to learn new technologies or employ unfamiliar methods, you’ll remain focussed on the solution, able to utilise the skills of and work with a range of different teams and colleagues to deliver the best possible result.
