Market Access Lead for Disease Modifying Drug Development - Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate
About us
UCL and Cure Parkinson's (CP), a registered charity and a member of Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) that funds and facilitates research into a cure(s) for Parkinson's, are coming together through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), a national scheme which helps businesses to innovate and grow, by linking businesses and in this case a charity, with a university and a highly qualified graduate, known as a KTP Associate.
A KTP is a three-way partnership between CP, UCL and the KTP Associate, who will be employed by UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology , specifically in the Department of Clinical and Movement Neurosciences, and will work at CP and liaise regularly with the academic team, visiting UCL campus from time to time.
About the role
We are seeking a KTP Associate to lead the innovative Disease Modifying Drug Development project putting the latest academic research into practice.
The aim of the KTP project is to optimise routes to patients of potential drugs being developed by CP.
This is a unique opportunity to gain commercial skills and experience, working inside a dynamic business which is driving forward new treatments with the potential to change the progression of Parkinson’s for the 10 million people affected globally, and working alongside world-leading academics on an innovative and scientifically rigorous project.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the project and will be expected to show initiative and independence of thought in applied research and embedding knowledge. You will demonstrate innovation and project management skills whilst fully enjoying the benefits of this unique position at the interface between industry and academia, including your close access to neuroscientist and market research experts from both.
The Associate must start work before 05 July 2024. The post is funded by Innovate UK and Cure Parkinson’s for 36 months in the first instance.
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site at the Cure Parkinson’s office in London.
About you
This role offers a springboard to a career in both industry and academia to postgraduates and postdocs in Medical or Biotech Development and related disciplines. You will apply your project management skills to translate complex business and clinical data into a format suitable for a range of audiences and utilise your Business and Regulatory skills to better understand the market and the regulatory ecosystem about Parkison’s disease. A collaborative attitude and strong communication and networking skills are key as you will have the opportunity to build a wide network of contacts within the field of neurodegenerative conditions and may help in bringing new therapeutic options to the Parkinson’s community.
