An exciting opportunity has arisen for a maintenance technician to join the Royal Veterinary College, Infrastructure Services Directorate as a member of the Estates department and be based at our Camden Campus.

The role is for an Electrically biased Maintenance Technician to provide support to our professional maintenance and repair service to all of the on-site fixed and mobile infrastructure and equipment. The crucial role ensures our busy hospitals, accommodation and teaching spaces operate to the greatest efficiency and availability at all times.

The ideal candidate will be looking to further their career in the buildings maintenance profession in a demanding and challenging environment.

We are looking for someone with recognised electrical trade qualification and experience of general maintenance ideally gained in a higher education, hotel or hospital environment.

This role demands a flexible approach to provide adequate support to the maintenance team and will involve undertaking reactive repairs, planned maintenance and installation work, sometimes outside of normal working hours. It will also involve working with low levels of supervision in a high pressure teaching and research environment.

Duties include, but not limited to:

 - Ensuring that all plant and equipment on the Campus is safely maintained and repaired as required to optimise plant efficiency and site capacity

 - Carrying out maintenance and repair of our plant, ancillary equipment and infrastructure services as directed by the Campus Maintenance Manager or other Estates management team members.

The RVC values diversity and is committed to the equality of opportunity. Balancing both the needs of the business with those of our staff, we will consider applications to work on a flexible basis where possible.
