About the Role

Our Maintenance Assistants provide operational support to a wide variety of customers throughout the University in off-loading and moving materials around campus, including equipment, materials, stores deliveries, hazardous waste. In addition they are responsible for general and specialist lifting operations, as well as setting up examination rooms, relocation of offices, laboratory furniture and equipment.

About You

Training will be provided however to be successful in this post you will need to demonstrate prior experience of working with and an understanding of various building trades and constructions that will allow you to carry out general building maintenance work; you will have an understanding of specialist lifting and the associated regulations and have a good working knowledge of health and safety. In addition you will need to be flexible, be able to work within a team as well as on your own initiative and be able to demonstrate your ability to provide excellent customer service. Due to the nature of the role you will require a general level of fitness that will allow you to meet the physical requirements of this role.
