ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be working in Library Digital Services, a small team within Library Content Services which provides a focal point in Swansea University Libraries for the provision and delivery of core library digital services. We are a supportive team committed to continuing professional development and enhancing skills and knowledge. We work with flexibility using the agile methodology (http://agilemanifesto.org/ ) and the Scrum Framework (https://www.scrum.org/ ) to both support and continuously improve library digital services and systems including the Library Management Platform (Alma), Scholarly Content Discovery (iFind/Primo), the University Reading Lists service (iFind Reading/Leganto), Scholarly Content Authentication to e-books, online academic journals and databases (OpenAthens/Shibboleth). The role requires some work on our campuses and the ability to travel to a campus at short notice. We work collaboratively with other Higher Education and special libraries in Wales, the UK and beyond to develop services such as the Wales-wide print and digital lending service.

We are seeking a keen individual who is willing to learn and technically inclined. You will be comfortable using technical language and enjoy thinking logically and creatively to solve technical problems. You will provide second tier troubleshooting of library digital services and work in our agile development environment as part of a team working to improve library digital services. You will gain experience in our services and systems to enable you to train members of the Library Content Services team to use library digital services and systems. Your work will be varied, challenging, and stimulating, requiring personal organisation, flexibility, and an ability to work to deadlines.
